Addressing your International Needs

What is a freight forwarder? According to Wikipeida, a freight forwarder dispatches shipments via carriers, such as ocean vessels, airplanes, trucks or railroads and they arrange space for these shipments on these carriers.

International freight forwarders have the expertise to prepare and process documentation and paperwork required to cross border lines and coordinate the movement of the goods which may involve a multitude of carriers.

Canada Border Services Agency

Safety and Security

Canada Border Services Agency works hard to combat smuggling of contraband and illicit drugs. You can help! If you think you may have information in regards to any suspicious cross border activity you can contact the Canada Border Services Agency by contacting their Watch Toll-Free Number at 1-888-502-9060. For more information, check out: http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/security-securite/bwl-lsf-eng.html

Invoice Requirements

Did you know that a commercial or sales invoice can be used in place of a Canada Customs Invoice (CCI)? These invoices are accepted by CBSA as long as they have the same information as provided on a CCI. Often the country of the manufacture of the goods is missed on these invoices, thereby delaying shipments at the border. For more information, check out our website Click here.

Verification Audit 2009-2010

Each year the Canada Brokers Services Agency (CBSA) sends out a list of products which fall under their Compliance Verification Priorities in regards to valuation, tariff and origin. These products are specifically targeted for audit. Please find the list for 2008- 2009 and 2009-2010 along with contact information by clicking here.

If you have any questions about the products on this list, our consulting team would be happy to help you. Email them at consulting@aacb.com
